Lansdown Bath
Lansdown, Bath
Situated within the Bath Conservation Area this large extension to a 1960's semi-detached house is designed to make its own visual statement; linked to the three storey extension by a fully glazed connection the original pair of houses remain as orignally designed.
The main extension is contructed from natural Bath stone ashlar with cedar cladding under a pitched zinc roof supported on an exposed double-tongued softwood structural roof deck sitting on a reinforced concrete collar at wallplate level.
The fully glazed link has a zinc flat roof supported on an exposed double-tongued softwood structural roof deck. The double glazed, solar tinted windows open automatically in response to the internal temperature to provide natural ventilation.
The double-height of the link forms the new entrance Hall and separates the three-storey extension from the existing house. The new Sitting Room is off the Hall through a pair of toughend glass doors; up the stairs is the Master Bedroom with the Kitchen, Utililty, Dining Area and rear garden at lower ground floor.
