Steel Frame erected in Charlcombe Valley
A structural steel frame has been erected in the Charlcombe valley, which forms the centre piece of a extensive alteration and extension project for private clients.
Esmond Murray Architects are project managing the scheme and the erection required a close working relationship with the Field Building Limited (Main Contractor) and Lee Cooper of Tetbury (Nominated Sub Contactor) who fabricated and managed the erection.
The installation proved extremely succesful, with the erection only taking in the region of eight hours; a real feat due to the restrictive access available to the property.
The steel frame will form a two storey fully glazed extension and is also required to support the floors and roof of the existing property following the removal of an 5 metre high by 8 metre long section of masonry cavity wall.
The steel frame was designed by South Stoke Structures (Structural Engineers) who have also been involved with the structural elements relating to the rest of the project.
