The scheme saw the erection of 4 dwellings with associated garages and parking on land adjoining the Hawkchurch Village Hall in Devon.
The houses are designed as a terrace using the local materials of brick, render and slate but with the addition of another local material, field flint.
The design of the houses follow an informal approach to look as if different owners have developed them over a period of time. This reflects the typical way so many of our villages and towns have grown and contribute so much to their much-admired character.
In this proposl this is achieved by varying the ridge heights, the width of the houses and the use of materials so that each house has a distinct appearance.
